About

The Berlin International Center for the Study of Antisemitism (BICSA) ist ein 2011 gegründeter Think-Tank aus Berlin.

Why we need another Research Center

 for the Study of Antisemitism

The Berlin International Center for the Study of Antisemitism (BICSA) was founded in January 2011 by political scientist Dr. Clemens Heni. BICSA is an independent Think-Tank located in Berlin, Germany.

We have faced high waves of anti-Semitism in the last years, especially since the second Intifada in 2000, and the horror of 9/11. From the Gaza flotilla in May 2010 to the Iranian threat, from Nazi marches in Latvia or Hungary to the obfuscation of the Holocaust, from anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist rallies in Berlin, London, San Francisco to scholarly works on “Islamophobia,” promoting, supporting or downplaying Islamism and Islamic Jihad: anti-Semitism is still an issue, over 70 years after National Socialism and Auschwitz.

Many scholars and academics fail to address these topics. We need to strengthen scholarship and BICSA wants to encourage scholars, young and old, to study and analyze antisemitism in all its forms.

The Berlin International Center for the Study of Antisemitism (BICSA) will provide scholarly research. The main focus of the institute is antisemitism in the 21st century, particularly hatred of Israel or anti-Zionist antisemitism, Holocaust distortion and „traditional“ forms of antisemitism like conspiracy myths (Protocols of the Elders of Zion), blood libels, or anti-Judaism.

The purpose of the Center is to conduct high-profile scholarly research without being stuck in the ivory towers of academia.

BICSA publishes the following book series (mainly in German, but also in English), which can be found here and on the homepage of the publisher Edition Critic: Several titles are also available via Amazon, for example. All books can be ordered in book stores or directly via the publishing house (editioncritic[at]email.de):

  • Studies in Antisemitism (five volumes as of May 2016)
  • Middle East Studies (four volumes so far)
  • Studies in right-wing extremism and the New Right (one volume)

BICSA is an independent organization and depends on your contributions.
